Deputy Chairman of the security Council of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev said that the US position to the Contract on reduction of strategic offensive arms (the start Treaty, start-3) will have serious consequences.

Earlier, Medvedev discussed with Russian President Vladimir Putin the situation with the Treaty on open skies (DON). The American side announced its withdrawal from the Treaty.

May 21, U.S. President Donald trump announced the imminent US withdrawal from the Treaty, accusing Russia of violating its terms. The Russian foreign Ministry said that Moscow, in turn, dissatisfied with the performance of the agreement by the American side.

It also does not negate the development of new agreements. Russia has repeatedly denied accusations by the U.S. in breach of contract. On may 22, the Russian foreign Ministry said that Moscow will negotiate with the United States, including, DON, on a reciprocal basis, and any ultimatums by the us is unacceptable.
