President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that the country in the next few years will be draft a new Constitution, reports TASS.

The statement of the Belarusian President was speaking at a meeting with employees of “Belaruskali”. Lukashenko stressed that amendments to the Constitution may be made in the next couple of years. However, he noted that his statement has already been presented several versions of the main document of the country, which, in his opinion, “not fit”.

“People are just afraid to make more drastic changes to the Constitution. I think we need this to be done,” – said Lukashenko.

According to the head of the state, prior to the approval of the new Constitution planned “transfer of powers downwards”. More power the President of Belarus is going to give the chairmen of Executive committees, governors and other municipal representatives.

As reported by “the Rambler”, from 25 June, Russia began voting on amendments proposed for inclusion in the Constitution of the Russian Federation, including electronic. It will last until 1 July.
