Minsk hosted the meeting of Lavrov with Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei.
The actions of NATO near the borders of Russia and Belarus are provocative, said the foreign Minister of Russia Sergei Lavrov at a briefing in Minsk on the results of his talks with his Belarusian counterpart Vladimir Makei.
According to him, during the talks, representatives of the two countries paid special attention to relations with the EU and the USA, expanding NATO close to Russia’s borders and Belarus.
“Such actions of the Alliance are openly provocative and lead to further fragmentation of the European security space,” said Lavrov.
Lavrov also noted that Russia and Belarus are interested in the preservation of the open skies Treaty.
