A police officer was shot and injured during an operation in Saarbrücken-Klarenthal on Friday. The police called on residents to stay in their homes. A person shoots out of the window in the Warndtstraße and Wilhelmstraße area, the police said on Twitter. “Please stay in your houses and away from the windows.”

According to the police, the officials were on site to support the administrative and enforcement assistance of the Saarbrücken City Weapons Authority. When the police officers and the employees of the city of Saarbrücken arrived at the 67-year-old to search his apartment on the basis of a search warrant from the Saarland administrative court, the man shot at a police officer. He was injured by the shot. Another police officer was injured by flying glass fragments.

The 67-year-old then barricaded himself in his apartment. The area is cordoned off over a large area.
