Italy extends the decommissioning of the country to 3. may. It says the country’s prime minister, Giuseppe Conte, on Friday.

– It is a difficult, but necessary decision, which I take full political responsibility, says Conte at a press conference.

Conte and his government is under pressure from the Italian industry associations, who have warned that companies will not be able to pay the employees wages, if the shutdown lasts. It writes the Italian media, according to AFP.

But the prime minister insists that Italy can’t afford to see smittekurven rise again. He stresses that the country will have to proceed carefully.

– I can imagine that we all are impatient to get started again, he says.
