In Petrozavodsk on Wednesday opened a monument to the soldiers ‘ mothers in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war. The author of the monument – people’s artist of Russia Salavat Shcherbakov.
the New monument is presented in the form of female figure, which covers long-coat two children. They have portraits of the family, who had gone to war. As noted at the opening of the monument, Deputy Secretary of the Russian security Council Rashid Nurgaliyev, this monument is a symbol of gratitude to mothers. During the war they not only raised the children, waited with the front of their sons and husbands, but also worked in the rear, for the benefit of total Victory.
the initiative to establish such a monument to Rashid Nurgaliyev, as one of the members of the state Commission on preparation of celebrating of the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Karelia, addressed veterans of the Afghan war. The sculptor Salavat Shcherbakov was invested in a monument to his soul.
