British scientists from Imperial College London, Bristol University and University College London conducted a study revealing the true cause of the extinction of the dinosaurs.
The researchers were able to prove that dinosaurs ceased to exist on the planet 66 million years ago, not because of volcanic eruptions. The true cause of their extinction was the Chicxulub asteroid impact. After that, as researchers found, conditions on Earth became intolerable for reptiles. Changed the planet’s climate has led to extinction of dinosaurs.
It should be noted that a new model that used different approaches showed that the impact of the asteroid in the global plan proved disastrous, writes BAFS “the Economy today”.
