In the fall of the Federation Council to intensify work on the draft law on prevention of domestic violence. In an interview with “Parlamentskaya Gazeta” said the head of the Federation Council Committee on constitutional legislation and state construction Andrey Klishas.

Recall that in November last year, the Federation Council held a wide-ranging public discussion of this bill. By that time, there were several versions of this document, and the audience was exposed to a variant, prepared by a working group established by order of the President of the chamber of regions Valentina Matvienko. During the discussion, it has received over ten thousand comments and suggestions. This work is not easy, as the need “to find a compromise in this area and to reduce the irreconcilable points of view”, said Matvienko on July 23.

He said that the Federation Council aims to develop a system of preventive measures aimed at ensuring that “people were not exposed to violence at home.” He noted that a positive role in this work could play a public organization.

He called unfounded fears about the fact that to the prevention of domestic violence unable to connect to foreign non-profit organizations. According to the Senator, specific requirements for NPOs may be established by secondary legislation.

Andrei Klishas also noticed that foreign NGOs, on the contrary, oppose the initiative. “Let’s see what public organizations massively distributed, including in social networks, petitions against the bill.
