Still a student he translated the satirical poem by Giacomo Leopardi, which was published in the collection “Moral stories” published by “Republic” in the neighborhood of the translations of Anna Akhmatova. Then he translated the novel of Giuseppe Kulicki “anyway you drive” (St. Petersburg: Symposium, 2003). This, incidentally, was his thesis.
