Despite the pandemic coronavirus, 77-th Venice film festival this year will take place and will take place from 2 to 12 September. Today the organizers announced the main festival program, which among others included the picture of the 82-year-old Russian Director Andrei Konchalovsky’s “Dear comrades.”

In the film, which will be released in Russian cinemas this fall, tells of the dispersal of the demonstration in Novocherkassk in 1962, which killed 26 people, and another 87 were injured. Then, workers at the Novocherkassk electric locomotive plant went on strike, demanding better working conditions and higher wages. For a long time the information about these events were classified, and only in the end of 1980-ies it was partially published.

Konchalovsky were not only directed the film but also his-scriptwriter. With him on writing the script worked Elena Kiseleva. The main roles in the film played by Konchalovsky’s wife Yulia Vysotskaya Sergey Erlich, Yulia Burova, Andrey Gusev, Vladislav Komarov, and others. General producer of the picture was Alisher Usmanov.
