According to investigators, the accused, after watching the Internet clips and reading news about mass murders in schools, from hooligan promptings has decided to commit the same crime in one of the colleges of Ulan-Ude. From November 2018, he began preparations for the crime, after reviewing the web instructions for making improvised explosive devices and acquired the necessary components. The young man made at least 15 bombs and blew them up during the test. One of these explosions destroyed a vacant house in the countryside.
