the national police of Ukraine opened a criminal case due to the breaking of quarantine in the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra in Ternopil region and Holy assumption monastery Svyatogorsk in the Donetsk region during the celebration of Easter. About it reports “Interfax-Ukraine”.
“the divine Liturgy in the Holy Dormition Pochayiv Lavra was held with the participation of a large number of believers. According to preliminary agreements with the clergy of the Pochayiv Lavra, the service must be conducted in compliance with all terms and conditions of the quarantine,” the message reads.
Specifies that the parishioners had to be on site. At the same time, the police recorded a crowd of people during the service in the temple. The vast majority of believers were tailgating, some of them did not use the masks.
At the Holy Dormition Svyatogorsk Lavra of the Ukrainian law enforcement officers also documented violations. In particular, the congregation does not adhere to social distance, some of them was in the temple without personal protective equipment.
On both facts Natspolitsiya excited criminal proceedings under article 325 (“Violation of sanitary rules and regulations for the prevention of infectious diseases and mass poisonings”) Criminal code of Ukraine which prescribes punishment in the form of deprivation of liberty for a term of five to eight years.
