The us President Donald trump has signed a decree limiting the work of Chinese mobile application TikTok in the United States.
As stated in the document, there are “reliable data” showing that ByteDance (owner of TikTok) “with the purchase of a” music service musical.ly “may take actions” that threaten U.S. national security.
ByteDance held a merger of their application TikTok with the social network musical.ly and created a single platform, RIA “Novosti”.
The US President demanded to ban in American jurisdictions deal on musical.ly. Within 90 days (the term can be extended for another 30 days) the foreign investment Committee have demanded ByteDance and its subsidiaries to abandon all assets in the United States and get rid of personal data of users collected through TikTok or musical.ly in the United States.
Then ByteDance should provide the Committee with a written report.
Recall, trump was signed by Executive decrees “on measures to combat the threat of” Chinese mobile app TikTok and WeChat. The decree “On combating the threat TikTok” prohibits transactions with the company-owner of TikTok ByteDance “USA”.
