Member of the Federation Council Committee on international Affairs Sergei Tsekov in response to the desire of the Ukrainian authorities to demand from Russia the duty for the black sea fleet in the Crimean region, has proposed to ask Kiev for “the looting of Crimea”.
Earlier, Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Bodnar said that Moscow needs to pay annually to the Kiev of $100 million for the basing in Crimea of the black sea fleet, as it was before the occurrence of the Peninsula in structure of Russia. In his opinion, “the attempt of the occupation” of the Crimea does not negate the lease.
As reported RIA Novosti, Tsekov believes such statements of a political gamble. He recalled that the Crimea back to Russia in a legal way and now the Navy is there on the right.
Today it is necessary to put the issue of recovery of damages for the period of the destruction and looting of Crimea in the days of being a part of Ukraine — said Tsekov.
He added that according to preliminary estimates, losses from stay of the Crimea in the Ukraine amount to more than two trillion rubles.
Crimea became a Russian region after held in the 2014 referendum, in which more than 97 percent of citizens voted for joining the Russian Federation. Ukraine still considers Crimea its but temporarily occupied territory.
As previously wrote NEWS.ru the Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vadim pristayko said that the Arbitration court of the Hague confirmed its jurisdiction to consider the claim of Ukraine to the Russian part of the Azov sea and the Kerch Strait, as well as theft of natural resources.
