New national standard (GOST R) for fuel-dispensing units (TRC) approved by Rosstandart. It will be effective from 1 October 2020. This is reported by “Vedomosti”, with reference to the words of the Deputy Minister Alexey Kuleshov.

Now the SEC needs to be equipped with modern means of protection from unauthorized access. This applies not only software, but also the design of the dispenser, which should exclude the possibility of replacing the nodes and elements and additional equipment not originally specified by the manufacturer. This will minimize the risks of intentional incomplete filling of fuel at filling stations.

Kuleshov emphasized that compliance with GOST in Russia is voluntary, as long as the link does not appear in the relevant legal act, therefore, all petrol stations will continue until work. The station with the old equipment will have enough time to swap it for a new one.

Earlier, at the end of 2019 Rosstandart, the Government introduced the bill on responsibility for underfilling fuel. At the moment the penalty for underfilling of gasoline ranges from 50 thousand to 100 thousand rubles for legal entities.
