The Kremlin does not form a position on the proposal to reduce the new year holidays in 2021, said press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov. He said that on the question of the duration of the holidays there is an established practice, reports RIA Novosti.
Solved the issue of reducing the Christmas holidays
Earlier, as reported “the Rambler”, it became known that the head of the economic Committee of the Federation Council Andrey Kutepov has prepared a bill, which implies a reduction of the Christmas holidays in 2021.
It is planned to declare the weekend from 1 to 3 January and 7 January in connection with the celebration of Christmas. The Senator stressed that the first working week of the year must begin with the number 4, to compensate for the days that were inoperative due to pandemic coronavirus this year. Thus, according to the MP, to support the Russian economy.
Dmiri Peskov, answering the question of journalists, how the Kremlin reacted to the proposal Kutepova, said that the country’s leadership comes from the already established practices, highlighting the lack of position in the Kremlin on that account.
