Museums of Germany are gradually coming out of the quarantine blockade. While some tightening of the economic belt and is hard at work on a plan open, other — Brandenburg Museum of modern art in Cottbus — run the first visitors. Mask wear is not required, but the distance will have to comply with with the help of special sticks. As Moscow museums will emerge from the crisis and how much money already lost, “MK” told the Director of the Multimedia Art Museum Olga Sviblova.

In the Brandenburg Museum of modern art in Cottbus (100 kilometers South-East of Berlin) visitors split into pairs and hold the opposite ends of special canes to 1.5 meters. Such minimum distance, the German government requests to comply with people who do not live together. It’s distance marked on the floor using masking tape.

in addition, the Museum installed on the shelves of the protection of Plexiglas and purchased to visitors hundreds of boxes of antiseptics. Methods usual for Russia, but this does not negate their cost. “They cost us a fortune, — complains the Director of the Museum Ulrike Kremeier. — Someone’s profiting from all this.”

According to her, in normal times, the Museum leads group tours, but this year they will appear not earlier than autumn. And now offer visitors a 20-minute tours for a small fee of 2 euros. The mask wear is not required.

She Kremeier recorded a public service video for the Museum’s lobby on remedies in public places, which offered artists and architects in the past. “Now shaking hands was considered impolite. What to replace this ancient form of greeting, which originally served as a gesture of peace, a way to show that you are not armed? For example, nod, nod of head or wave of the handkerchief!” she says.

of Course, the future of the state museums of Russia will depend on the directives of the Ministry of culture and Moscow Department of culture. But as it appears to the Director of the Multimedia Art Museum, we asked Olga directly Sviblovo.

Can you imagine how the Museum will operate after quarantine?

— of Course, we all go out to work. But I urge to consume spiritual food, not in places of a mass congestion of people. Better safe than sorry. We still have the second and third waves of the virus. We need to understand that choosing between economy and culture, the first thing will have to save the economy. Otherwise soon people will have nothing to eat.

as for measures, we will introduce electronic tickets on short sessions. I do think that the coronavirus will end the boom in attendance. Prior to the epidemic, museums around the world chasing it. First, it is a sport. And secondly, a banal truth. When you do an exhibition you want to see the maximum number of lday. But our social model of jointness every day undergoes large changes. Museums will be open for a very limited number of people, and excursions and will do the vip tour for a chosen few. Previously, they have enjoyed great popularity, but now we physically will not be able to effectively disinfect “audiopci”. Most likely, the tours will with microphones, and the number of people in groups will decrease 10 times.

Is seriously going to upset the economy.

— of Course. To quarantine we made a lots of money. And 90% of the money is extra-budgetary funds, which then distributed the allowances to the salaries of employees. Since the closure, we lost more than 8 million rubles. And this amount will increase.

But my hand will not rise to encourage people to go to museums. We were forced to close perfect opening day “Photobiennale-2020” 10 days after opening. And these days I asked people not to come if they can. We are not alarmists. Just people’s health is more important. I understand that after the opening of us will have to give.

— All the cultural institutions are now actively developing an online platform. Now this is the only way, and then what?

— And more. We are forced to seek new forms, to create new content to attract viewers. This again entails a number of economic difficulties. New challenges require a new team of specialists, equipment and time. But life online is a reality. And, most likely, by subscription. But tickets at the box office — for a very select circle of visitors. All this is a huge monetary loss for the Museum. Plus every day we have to treat the room several times, wasting huge amounts of money on electricity, the Rangers, closet, no earning. We have signed contracts for the international exhibitions, some of which have already arrived in the Museum. But I will have to send the pieces back. And this is a huge amount of money with all the currency changes.

You are preparing a special project for the Grand opening?

— As we are launching a special campaign. The Museum is asking all artists and lovers of MAMM to draw, shoot, create on the computer the colors the doctors, and then upload them to their social networks under the hashtag #citybreak. The best work we will post on the website, and after the opening collect of them Vernissage, to which we will invite health professionals. Moreover, doctors and medical students will go into our Museum for free. This is something that we can Express our real “thank you.”
