The Telegram messenger has sent in the European Commission’s formal antitrust complaint against Apple about possible violations in the work of the App Store, writes the Financial Times.

The complaint States that Apple should “allow users to be able to download the software not only from the App Store,” reports RIA “Novosti”.

According to Financial Times, in June, Executive Vice-President of the EC, Margrethe Vestager announced two antitrust investigations against Apple, one of which concerned App Store, another Apple Pay.

Apple has repeatedly denied allegations of anti-competitive behavior. In his statement on the eve of hearings in the U.S. Congress, Apple Executive Tim cook admitted that the App Store review is “reasonable and appropriate”, but at the same time it protects the business practices of the company. He also noted that Apple thinks “competition is a big advantage, (which) contributes to innovation.”

Earlier Telegram founder Pavel Durov has criticized Apple for cheat prices and censorship. According to him, the Commission in the App Store 30% overstates the cost of the apps, and Apple owning the shop, reduces privacy and increases advertising.
