the Russian scientist-orientalist and economist, founder and President of scientific centre “Institute of the Middle East” Yevgeny Satanovsky commented on the morning reports that the President and commander in chief Vladimir Putin announced the sudden checking of the troops of the southern and Western military districts. The analyst attributed this to the escalation between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
Satanovsky said that now the situation between Baku and Yerevan could easily “go into a catastrophic phase.” According to him, in these countries there is fear of war, in addition, each of the leaders under pressure “street mood”. Also Satanovskiy noted and participation in the escalation of foreign powers. He reminded that the USA have in Armenia’s largest Embassy and Azerbaijan is Turkey, which has already announced its support.
Satanovsky also reminded that Turkey stood behind the conflict, 2016.
the Expert believes that for the United States this conflict is the reason make life difficult for Moscow. And Turkey, in the case of Azerbaijan, claims to be “the unity of the people”, denoting a geopolitical claim on the region.
In his comments on radio station “Vesti FM” Satanovsky said that Russia is the only country that really wants to settle the conflict.
“the Russian government today announced a sudden check of troops. There will be exercises in the Western military district and southern military district. What is SMD – that’s understandable. This is just the place,” said Satanovsky.
He also said that the so-called “great war” has already begun and the Russian foreign Ministry is doing everything possible to influence the situation.
Note that the Director of the Center for political conjuncture, Ivan Konovalov said the “MK” that this test has nothing to do with events in the South Caucasus, nor with the situation around Ukraine.
