the Philharmonic are well prepared for the return of “live sound”. The audience enters the hall, gets mask and sets in “chess order”. A place that should be free, not without humor marked by the announcement: “Here sits an angel acoustic – please do not occupy”. The new rules, all obey, even though people do not hide bewilderment: “Why in a crowded public transport you can go, and sit on the concert it is impossible even for a married couple or parents with children, or why it is not allowed to give artists a bouquet of flowers?!”. But the joy of the opportunity to attend a concert offline takes precedence in all circumstances.

the performance of the Mariinsky artists is emotional. The main heroine of Cavalleria Rusticana was the mezzo-soprano Ekaterina Semenchuk. Her Santuzza, ready for love at all, adds to the gallery of the best performers of the party. Successfully ansamblului this evening with Semenchuk nazhmiddin Mavlyanov (Turiddu) and Roman Burdenko (Alfio).

This Moscow tour was organized under the heading of the Easter festival, which was supposed to start April 19, but because of the quarantine, it seemed, was cancelled. But today, choral, chamber and bell-ringing programs, the festival travels around Russia, giving two concerts a day. The Mariinsky theatre’s musicians have heard and will meet in Tver, Pskov, Tikhvin, Kazan, Syktyvkar, Kirov, Volgograd, Izhevsk, Kursk, Orel, Voronezh, Bryansk, Smolensk… the map of the Mariinsky voyage concerts in 26 cities in 16 days.

And on 14 August at the Seaside stage of the theatre in Vladivostok will be held the V international far Eastern festival “Mariinsky”. It will open with the premiere of the ballet “the Thousand and one nights” to the music of Fikret Amirov, who for the Seaside scene put Eldar Aliyev. For the first time on this stage will feature the Opera “don Carlos” Verdi, “the Fiery angel” by Prokofiev, “Cavalleria Rusticana” Mascagni and the “mastersingers of Nuremberg” Wagner in the concert performance will be the ballet “Concerto DSCH” by Alexei Ratmansky, “Solo” by Hans van Manen and the recent premieres of works by young choreographers: “pioneer Suite” Alexander Sergeev “Russian deadlocks-II” by Maxim Petrov. And in September the Mariinsky theatre will premiere “the snow Maiden” by Rimsky-Korsakov, staged by Anna matison.

Valery Gergiev, artistic Director of the Mariinsky theatre:

– it is Very noticeable that the audience was hungry for “live” concerts. Although the Mariinsky theatre has collected an audience of millions during quarantine around their webcasts, as long as they do not become the norm. Otherwise, we spycams with the idea that the public should not be, and that is not what I always wanted. Of course, we have to be careful. Because, despite all our efforts and precautions in theatres – the Mariinsky and here, unfortunately, is no exception, while still having the cases of this disease. But I don’t understand why the world media stir up the situation and just have, you might say, appointed the second and even the third wave of the epidemic without any reason.

And the year of the 75th anniversary of the great Victory we need to be strong and act as we intended, in the cities-heroes and cities of military glory that have helped forge our victory. The fact of the power of the Moscow Easter festival that it is known not only in the capital, he visited almost in 70 regions of the country. Easter festival with 20 years of history to undo, in my opinion, it would be unfair to the people that were waiting for the performances of the Mariinsky theatre. Indeed, in many cities, where we come from, not even a Symphony orchestra. The festival in Vladivostok, I am sure, is very much needed today. Seaside Mariinsky theatre is a cultural centre of a vast, strategically important region of our country. If we stop now, we take even more pause – it will be a huge, devastating step back and cause damage, which will then be extremely difficult to fill. I am convinced that mankind, in order to avoid even greater global problems, should return to a normal life.
