the Federal penitentiary service said that in the men’s colonies more popular historical works, detective stories, adventure books and fantasy. Women are more likely to read romance novels. In correctional colonies prefer adventure literature.
the Most favourite authors of prisoners was Darya Dontsova, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, Theodore Dreiser, Boris Akunin, Guzel Yakhina, Erich Maria Remarque and Nikolai Gogol. The most popular recognized poets Marina Tsvetaeva, Anna Akhmatova and Alexander Blok.
