In Poland there is no hard anti-Russian sentiment, however, Warsaw does not like projects like "Nord stream — 2," said Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki. His words conveys the portal Biznes Alert.

The Prime Minister also criticized Germany’s position regarding the construction of Russian gas pipeline. He added that within the ruling party in the Polish Parliament there are different opinions about relations with Germany, but Warsaw "rejects "Nord stream — 2".

"I don’t think that we have in Poland a fierce anti-Russian rhetoric. However, there are some issues that we don’t like, for example, "Nord stream — 2," said Morawiecki.

In Poland’s opinion, he said, European money for this gas pipeline will sponsor a Russian weapon. Also, according to Morawiecki, the project will allow Moscow to cut off Ukraine from gas supplies to Europe, and after doing with this country "everything you want".

"Therefore "Nord stream" and "Nord stream — 2" represent a threat to our region. That is why we criticize Germany", — concluded the Prime Minister.

"Nord stream — 2" involves the construction of two pipelines, the total capacity will be 55 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Under the project, the pipeline will stretch from the coast of Russia across the Baltic sea to Germany. Against the construction actively advocate the United States, the European Union promotes in its LNG and Ukraine and several EU countries.
