Press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov has called the sanctions of the West against Russia "gangster restrictions".

"Always temper the crisis, the crisis makes those who passed through it, stronger. This time. And second, do not forget also the fact that after all our economy for the past six years, Yes, it turns out, lives in a fairly rigid economic restrictions", – Peskov said in an interview with RTVI.

"I wouldn’t call them sanctions, because sanctions are something legitimate. Sanctions is what is implemented based on the decision of the UN Security Council. And this is bandit restriction," he added.

Peskov said that the Russian economy is predicted very savory time.

"But nevertheless, we managed to adapt to these conditions. However, managed to turn these conditions to its own advantage. We hyped the whole sector of production. We learned to produce what we have never produced. We began to develop high-tech industries", – said Peskov.

This, in his opinion, allows us to hope that the crisis in connection with the coronavirus, Russia will cope well.

"And since we managed to adapt in many ways to this hard unfriendly conditions, so, you know, quite a hostile environment, it must ensure that the plan of anti-crisis promotion we will succeed well," he said.
