the Monument to the legendary Soviet military leader appeared in Prague on the initiative of the city authorities in the late 1970’s-early 1980-ies. The monument was erected by the local inhabitants in gratitude for the fact that the commander has preserved buildings of the Czech capital, and ordered not to use heavy artillery during the assault on the city during its liberation from the Nazis in may 1945.
