Moscow schoolgirl has won gold at the European mathematical Olympiad

the Schoolgirl of the 11th class of the Moscow school № 1543 Elizabeth Neustroeva won the gold medal at the IX European mathematical Olympiad for girls. The competition was held from 15 to 21 April online.

this year the competition was organized by the Netherlands. The competition consisted of two rounds for 4.5 hours. The students had to solve six tasks.

the competition was attended by more than 200 students from 53 countries. Russia was represented by four Schoolgirls who passed a serious selection. Each of them has a diploma of all-Russian Olympiad in mathematics in previous years. In the end, on account of the Russians three gold, a silver, and first place in the unofficial team standings.

in Addition to the competitive part, the organizers prepared for the participants of the online program. It included contests as well as video calls and video tours through the gardens with tulips.

maiden European mathematical Olympiad is held annually since 2012. It is organized on the model of the International mathematical Olympiad. Each team includes no more than four participants. Next year the competition will be held in Georgia.
