Kellee Merrell and Ty Pennington were married!
On Sunday, Nov. 28, the HGTV star revealed the news via Instagram. Pennington is best known for his work with “Trading Spaces” as well as hosting “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.” He shared a photo of their special day and showed a picture of Pennington smiling at each other while they were posing in front of a white vintage convertible. The stunning photo was taken by Three Lines Creative.
The 57 year old wore a dark grey suit with a white shirt. Pennington chose to wear the top buttons unbuttoned, opting for a casual look and forgoing a tie.
Merrell, 33 years old, wore a white long gown with a Veronica Beard blazer layered on top. Her hair was dangled loosely with a long veil that was pinned at the back. She finished the look with beautiful white flowers.
Pennington captioned Pennington’s post with the words “We did it!”
Pennington’s fans and colleagues sent well wishes and love to the newlyweds.
Vern Yip, a former designer for “Trading Spaces”, commented: “Congratulations !!!! We wish you both a lifetime filled with more Love, Joy and Laughter than your bodies can handle! !”

Pennington’s co-star Taniya Naga, from “Battle on the Beach”, also left a note of congratulations for the couple. She wrote, “ahhhhhhh!!! This makes me so happy! Congratulations and much love to both of you! !”
People reported the couple were married in a private ceremony in Savannah, Georgia with eight guests. The couple is currently renovating their 19th-century home and the reception was held there.
Pennington and Merrell were engaged on July 28. The “Trading Spaces” former star posted the news to Instagram and shared a photo of Pennington’s then-fiancee wearing the stunning pear cut engagement rings.
He captioned the post, “It’s the yes …”,”
Pennington posted another Instagram post to thank his fans two days after they announced their exciting milestone together. Pennington posted a selfie with Merrell, the star of “Extreme Makeover Home Edition”, in which he did his best Zoolander impression while Merrell smiled in background.
He wrote, “Just wanted to thank you for all of the love and nice messages regarding our engagement.” We are in love! Kellee hates to have her picture taken so we are practicing our best “blue steel” for the wedding ….. Hers is clearly not up to scratch (she hasn’t taken my classes).
They first met in Toronto in 2010, ten years ago, while he was filming a TV series. They remained in touch through mutual friends over the years. They reconnected in 2020 and decided to quarantine together during the pandemic. Their relationship blossomed from that point on.
Pennington shared photos of Merrell during their time together. He shared a photo of him and Merrell smiling in an adorable embrace on Instagram to celebrate Easter. He snapped another photo with the couple on the beach at a friend’s birthday celebration. He shared a shot showing their Halloween costumes, which featured Margo and Todd from “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.”
