In Moscow, the week-by-week reduced the number of cases of coronavirus infection. The restrictive measures introduced in the city in March, almost everything has been removed, and the city hospitals back to work as usual. How did you manage to stop the spread of dangerous diseases through enough doctors mos.ru discussed with the head physician of city clinical hospital № 15 named after O. M. Filatov Valery Vechorko, laureate of the State prize for outstanding achievements in humanitarian activities for 2019.

Valery what do you think, thanks to Moscow fast enough was the peak of the morbidity and almost coped with the pandemic?

— Thanks to the right organizational actions at the city level. I did not diminish the professionalism of doctors and nurses, but if the whole is organized correctly, then their work will not save the situation.

we originally had clearly defined steps, what to do in a particular situation. The city promptly took the necessary measures: restricted, redeveloped hospitals under COVID-19.

— In your opinion, which period was the threat?

— Beginning of April.

How do you estimate the work COVID-19 of its staff, doctors and hospital nurses?

— On the highest level. They did a great job, we came out of the crisis.

It was a difficult time. Changed relations in the team, we know who on what is capable in a critical situation, on whom you can rely on. Many didn’t come home to protect their loved ones: during this period, the city has arranged free accommodation for doctors.

Personally, I chose not to settle in a hotel, and live right in the hospital, so I was more comfortable. In this mode he lived for about two months. However, unfortunately, my family still had coronavirus infection don’t even know where they contracted it. But all ended well.

Honestly, it was scary for the family, especially for children. They have yet to grow up, get an education, to live a life. For the staff, too, was afraid, of course. And froze.

— How fast did you convert the hospital No. 15, one of the largest clinics of Russia, under the provision of care cases of coronavirus infection?

— All done very quickly, in six to seven days. Despite the fact that there were patients. Work proceeded simultaneously on all fronts: summed oxygen to the beds, and there were about 700, in some places doing necessary repairs, divided the space into “dirty” and “clean” areas, trained doctors. To evaluate the work, perhaps others will, but as for me, I can say that we nailed it on the assessment of four plus.

for you Personally this experience was the most difficult in your career?

— I’m not looking for easy ways, and they somehow bypassed my side, anything can happen during the work. But I would not say that I was somehow unbearably hard. No. I think it would be harder without my work than with the work in any, even the emergency mode.

Tell us why did you decide to become a doctor, when in his youth he chose the profession?

— It was fatherly advice. He himself, incidentally, medicine is not related, he is a Builder. I originally was going to be a war, but when he finished eighth grade, his father brought upon the idea of becoming a doctor. Yes, me and most of the profession is like. By the way, eight classes I completed for one of the five, so in medical school they took me without any exams.

were there moments when you regretted that I followed the advice of his father?

— it was Not. We live once, and the more you help people, the more you will be rewarded. And most importantly? It’s health. Therefore, when you help others to maintain health, it is really very important. So what can be regret.

— don’t be afraid to take responsibility. And punctuality and, of course, humanity and ability to empathize.

Why during a pandemic, you have talked a lot about the life of the hospital “Facebook”?

I knew that the more people know about this trouble, the more will probably be able to prevent cases of the disease. Shooting in intensive care did the same to show the situation. To make people understand that a healthy life to the ICU one to two days. In short, I did it purposefully, in educational purposes, so that people can see, know and understand what they can expect if they act irresponsibly.

please Give me advice to Muscovites. How to behave when the threat seems to have receded, but still persists?

— you should not Relax. Of course, cases a lot less, but this does not mean that you can neglect safety precautions. Keep social distance, wear a mask — it’s simple.

awarded a prize for your work in 2019. Was it a surprise?

— Yes, definitely. I never expected anything like this. Just did my job and did not even think about any awards.

But recently, your achievements and more popular way: draw graffiti with your portrait. How did you react?

— It was also a complete surprise. I’m one of the friends sent a picture. Then he went himself and took pictures on the background. Especially nice that it’s like a people’s gratitude, love of the people. It’s important to me. And be sure to leave in the memory, the grandchildren will show.
