In the Russian Arctic switched to solar panels

In connection with the beginning of the polar summer, the national Park “Russian Arctic” switched to renewable energy and began using solar panels. About the Agency REGNUM have told in a press-service of the Park.

Solar energy will use the staff of the polar station omega in the period from may to October. It will suffice for all household needs, including the operation of the water heater and washing machine.

The head of the “Russian Arctic” Alexander Kirilov noted that alternative energy helps in saving the national parks up to 2.5−3 tons of diesel fuel and don’t produce in these months harmful emissions into the atmosphere. In the future there is hope to completely convert the omega symbols in green electricity.

The phase of the polar day began in the Land of Franz Josef in mid-April.
