So he responded to the lack of an invitation of the Russian delegation to the ceremony in honor of the 75th anniversary of the end of world war II in Berlin.
“This is not the first time in Poland, in France and other places trying to downplay the role of Russia in this war. Maybe this comes from considerations that the invitation to such a ceremony gives Russia additional image capital, which I would not like to see the powers that be,” – said the Deputy of Bundestag Waldemar Gerdt.
The politician believes that the ideological problems politicians try to solve using problems of the coronavirus.
“I think that this played a role as ideology, and technical issue related to quarantine. I hope this will be over soon and after the coronavirus in the arena will come from other political forces, which will remove all the ideological obstacles that prevent to develop the business. We face a serious economic collapse. And if we still further will come up with some ideological barriers, then get out of this economic crisis will be hard for all, not just Germany and Russia”, – said the Deputy.
As reported by the newspaper VIEW, earlier on Wednesday it became known that the Russian representatives are not invited to the ceremony in honor of the 75th anniversary of the end of world war II in Berlin. This was announced by the Deputy of the official representative of the government of Germany Ulrike Demmer.
Earlier it was reported that the President of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier jointly with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and the presidents of the Bundestag (the German Parliament), Bundesrat (the representative body of the länder) and the constitutional court will lay wreaths on may 8 to the Central memorial to the victims of war and violence in Berlin.
