on the Eve of the Russian Embassy in Italy has presented a virtual exhibition “Soviet partisans in Italy”, dedicated to the common struggle of Italian and Soviet partisans against the Nazis. Initially the exhibition was scheduled to open in Rome, but in connection with the disaster, it was decided to use an alternative online platform. The exhibition covers the period from 1942, when Italy appeared first prisoners of war, until 1945, when guerrilla forces managed to liberate several towns before the arrival of allied troops.

the story of the contribution of Soviet soldiers in the guerrilla movement is accompanied by rare archival materials, photographs and testimonies of those years. “The publication of this exhibition dedicated to the joint struggle of Soviet and Italian partisans against the Nazis, aims to pay tribute to those who fought for this land against the ideology of evil, to note the unity of the peoples of the USSR and Italy in this struggle. In Italy against the Nazis side-by-side with Italian partisans fought about 5000 thousand of Soviet citizens, 800 of which forever remained in the land. Their daily heroism should not be forgotten”, – told “RG” the press-Secretary of Embassy of Russia in Italy Alexey Fadeev.

on 30 April was the first video conference on the theme of providing truthful information on the progress and results of the great Patriotic and Second world wars. It was attended by members of associations of Russian compatriots and representatives of public organizations of Italy. The participants discussed issues such as demolition of monuments to Soviet soldiers in European cities, as well as the European Parliament resolution of 19 September 2019 on the equalization of Nazi and Communist regimes. During this call the team “Immortal regiment” of Italy offered to host the virtual March on may 9.

For the “Immortal regiment” in the online mode were digitized photographs of the veterans who took part in the fighting, home front workers, children of war, and all those who sacrificed their lives for the sake of Victory. And the 9 may on the platform of the ZOOM will be organized two videoconferences, in the morning and in the afternoon, in which the relatives will be given the opportunity to talk about their heroic ancestor.

Thanks to the efforts of several organizations supported by the vital lymph of alternative projects. In the eve of may 9 the Russian centre of science and culture in Rome has launched a project #the memory of the Victory. Its target audience is the younger generation of mixed Italian-Russian families. In the framework of the campaign in social networks will be posted children’s drawings and video in which guys from different parts of Italy read verses about the exploits, bravery and courage of the Soviet soldiers in the great Patriotic war.
