southern-the Sakhalin city court has convicted a former Russian mayor of two municipalities of Sakhalin Sergey Geychenko ten years of penal colony for bribery and possession of drugs. On Wednesday, may 13, according to the regional Prosecutor’s office.

the court found, occupying the post of Vice-mayor of municipality “Holmsky city district” in 2013 and 2014, the convict had received bribes for assisting in the negotiation and execution of municipal contracts, and for payment of the work performed. The former mayor did not agree with the arguments of the prosecution and pleaded not guilty.
