CAIRO, 16 Jan – RIA Novosti. Egypt received on Thursday a shipment of four tons of gratuitous assistance from China in the form of masks, gowns and tests for coronavirus, reported in the RIA Novosti press release of the Ministry of health of the country.
At the handover ceremony of assistance at Cairo airport attended by the Chinese Ambassador and the Deputy head of the Ministry of health of Egypt, said Agency spokesman Khaled Mogahed. “Help weighing 4 tons includes medical devices, ten thousand medical gowns, 20 thousand of medical masks, ten thousand tests for coronavirus,” – said Mogahed.
In turn, the Chinese Ambassador said that Beijing will provide Cairo all available data and studies to combat coronavirus. He said that using video conferencing has met Egyptian and Chinese experts to exchange experience on this issue. The Ambassador noted that the party of the first, the rest will be sent in the coming days.
As noted in the press release, the joint Egyptian-Chinese factory for production of medical masks in Cairo will increase the number of production lines to five to produce daily on each of them 100 thousand masks.
