The appointment to the post of the acting head of the Khabarovsk territory became for Mikhail Degtyarev unexpected, although he was preparing for a gubernatorial career. This ex-MP said in an interview with the newspaper "Kommersant".
After the arrest and resignation of Sergey Furgala temporarily fulfilling duties of the head of Khabarovsk Krai was appointed Mikhail Degtyarev, head of the state Duma Committee on physical culture, sport, tourism and youth Affairs. He, like Furgal is a member of the liberal democratic party, is included in the high Council of the party, was a member of the Presidium of its faction in the state Duma.
"of Course, this was unexpected", – said Degtyarev to the question whether the offer to lead the Khabarovsk Krai unexpected for him.
Meanwhile, the acting Governor stressed that he himself and the party, "my career had definite plans". Degtyarev noted that studies in the third stream is the so-called school governors and is in the personnel reserve of the President more than ten years.
