payment for utilities for municipal solid waste management (MSW) in Russia on average compared to last year dropped by 7%. This was announced in the Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS).

“as a result of improved legislation and control interventions at the beginning of 2020 charges for utilities for the treatment of MSW in Russia on average decreased by 7% compared to 2019 years”, – is spoken in the joint message of the FAS and the Russian environmental operator (REO).

the Message released as part of the outreach campaign for the regional operators of TKO tariff and local authorities, as well as some checks may exercise the competition authority.

In particular, it is noted that in addition to the disclosure standards, regional tariff authorities can be checked for legality and validity of tariff changes, and reapiratory – compliance with pricing regulations and application of tariffs.

the FAS of Russia is responsible for ensuring the state tariff regulation for the treatment of MSW. Following the inspections, the Antimonopoly service may cancel the tariff decision and to issue an order aimed at the elimination of violations.
