“Dedicated to all our beloved and relatives, the survivors and the dead in Holy war” – these words Vyacheslav Butusov prefaced his performance of “the Dark night”. He sang in a very friendly way, slowly and warmly. So few people can. Except that Boris Grebenshchikov, Alexander F. Sklyar, there is still a maximum of three to four performers.

At the same time Butusov did not use the traditional, expected for this song instruments. And offered to make arrangements to Victor Sologub, a former member of the “Weird games”, and now keyboardist and guitarist electronic Duo Deadушки. To the original sound “generational” song by Nikita Bogoslovsky and Vladimir Agapov its new players are treated very carefully. But “Dark nights” were a modern, contemporary sound, thanks to which it will surely want to listen to and new generation.

Very good female backing vocals, cameo, atmospheric use of guitars and guitar effects and electronic sounds, sometimes even imitating the sound of the wheels passing in front of the train… And on the screen, the handwriting of the poet, in the rhythm performance are written and the line “Dark night” – because everyone wants to sing along like karaoke.

But the main thing in this video is not even the song and the performance of Vyacheslav Butusova, a staff of the Leningrad chronicle of 1941-1945. And the people that we see on the screen: here is the complete tram, which is just women, hurrying to the factory shift, here are two smiling girls, persistently pushing the heavy trolley, here is another, very beautiful, the collecting shell for the front. And then – tanks, set on the famous for all the guides square to go to the front lines, historical types of Leningrad, St. Isaac’s Cathedral, which will soon begin masking before the attacks of German artillery. Covered with snow tram rails on Nevsky prospect, which cleared again of a woman: someone wielding shovels and who didn’t – drag blocks with your hands.

And at last the soldiers to break the siege, Leningraders which meet on the streets.

But the main thing in this “Dark night” of the Director “Lenfilm” Vasily Chiginsky – abundance of close-UPS: the different faces that seem somehow so familiar and even native.

because of them – so here it is real, alive and real, someone will better understand our history. And again believe that any trials and troubles we will not break! And someone might notice that people from “the Dark night” is similar to some of our current friends, relatives or neighbors.

And maybe learn even more to cherish and to love those who are near.
