the Crimean Prosecutor’s office asked the Supreme court of the Republic allow to resume the criminal case on the mass murder by the Nazis of Soviet citizens on the Peninsula. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General of the Russian Federation.

the Department explained that we are talking about the investigation launched on 28 July 1969 by the KGB under the Council of Ministers of the Ukrainian SSR on the Crimean region in connection with the facts of mass destruction of Soviet citizens by Nazi war criminals in the Crimea. According to the press service, the investigators performed a substantial amount of investigative and procedural actions, interrogated nearly 200 witnesses and the accused, conducted more than 100 examinations and identifications. Subsequently, the criminal case was dismissed, its materials were transferred to the Federal Republic of Germany to bring those responsible to justice.

By order of the Prosecutor General in the Prosecutor’s office of Kazakhstan has reviewed relevant archival materials of the FSB of Russia in the Crimea and Sevastopol.

the Investigators found additional episodes of criminal activity of the Nazis on the territory of Crimea in 1941-1944, the direct participants in the crimes and their victims, details of which are not reflected in the outcome documents of the investigation, – said the press service.

the Prosecutor’s office explained that, in particular, incompletely evaluated data about the barbaric crimes of the Nazis and their collaborators during the occupation of Alushta, Yevpatoria and Simferopol, Belogorsk district. According to reports, there with the participation of the Nazis tortured and killed over 17 thousand people, including old men, women and children.

– Special brutality shown during the burning together with the population of the Greek village of Laki Bakhchsarai area, – noted in press service. – To hard labor in Germany and Romania deported about 3,000 people.
