Nine major Russian digital companies have announced the creation of an Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment. The corresponding cooperation agreement was signed by its founders on Wednesday, September 1, in the presence of Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to a press release of the organization received by the editorial office of .

The members of the association included VimpelCom, Gazprom-Media Holding, Kaspersky Lab, MegaFon, MTS, Mail.Ru Group, “National Media Group”, “Rostelecom” and “Yandex”. It is noted that their main goal is to create a child-friendly Internet space based on creative and safe technologies and digital solutions.

“This will allow children to develop harmoniously, realize their needs in the digital world, learn responsible behavior on the web, form moral guidelines,” the message says.

Thus, the participating companies intend to increase digital literacy, conduct educational campaigns, educational programs, trainings on Internet security, digital hygiene and online risks for children, teachers and parents. In addition, they agreed to form creative content, popularize it among the target audience, create favorable conditions for the development of children’s creative abilities, their socialization and safe communication in a virtual environment.

Finally, the alliance will proactively identify and restrict children’s access to content that may harm their health and development, remove illegal content, promptly respond to user complaints and other appeals related to malicious content. Another area of its activity is building a dialogue with the state and international organizations on the protection of children in the digital environment.

It is noted that for the implementation of the agreement, it is planned to create working and consulting groups, within which the members of the alliance intend to conduct research and exchange best practices on child protection in the field of information and communication technologies.
