Issues of cooperation between Russia and Iceland in the Arctic Council was discussed at the bilateral talks in Moscow on 22 July, the press service of the foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation.

The talks were held between the Deputy Russian foreign Minister Vladimir Titov and the Ambassador of Iceland in Russia Berglind Asgeirsdottir.

The meeting was held in connection with the completion of the work Asgeirsdottir in Russia and her upcoming departure to Iceland.

“an exchange of views on issues on the bilateral agenda, cooperation in the Arctic Council, primarily in the context of the current presidency of Iceland, AC, in the years 2019-2021 and 2021-2023 upcoming cities of the Russian Federation”, — stated in the message.

As REGNUM reported earlier, in mid-July, the representative of Iceland urged to unite against Russia and China in the struggle for the Arctic.
