KIEV, June 23. /TASS/. Ukraine says Russia continue have to pay her $100 million a year for stationing the black sea fleet in the Crimea, as it did before the entry of the Peninsula into the Russian Federation. This was stated in interview to Agency “UKRINFORM”, the Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vasily Bodnar.

“Russia unilaterally denounced the agreement on the basing of the Russian black sea fleet in the Crimea”, — said Vasily Bodnar. “We believe that they [agreements] must act, since the legal procedures were not followed, and the Russians violated international law by resorting to the attempted occupation of Ukrainian territory”, — says Deputy head of the Ukrainian foreign Ministry.

On the question of whether Russia, according to Kiev, continue to pay Ukraine for black sea fleet in Crimea, Bodnar said, “Yes, about $100 million per year, but in 2014, no payment happens.”

After the coup in Kiev in February 2014, the authorities of Crimea and Sevastopol made the decision to hold a referendum on reunification with Russia. The vote was attended by more than 80% of eligible voters.

For the reunification voted 96.7% and 95.6% of residents of Crimea and Sevastopol. March 18, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a Treaty accepting the Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol into the Russian Federation, and on March 21 the document was ratified by the Federal Assembly. Russian President Vladimir Putin on 2 April 2014 signed a law on termination of four Russian, Ukrainian agreements on the black sea fleet of the Russian Federation. 28 Mar 2014 the President of Russia introduced a bill on the termination of these agreements for consideration in the state Duma.
