Former Minister of foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavlo Klimkin proposed to create a problem for Russia from the Crimea.
On its Facebook page, the politician said about the attack "Crimean days". He recalled that yesterday was the 80th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Welles, fixing the United States ‘ refusal to recognize Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia part of the Soviet Union. These republics seceded from the Soviet Union in 90 years.
"a Lot of people in their de-occupation did not believe sanctions were not simply a clear and consistent position. And our Baltic friends believed and received what belongs to them", — wrote Klimkin, without specifying, however, how this Declaration can be associated with the release of the Baltic republics from the Soviet Union.
Also, I added ex-the Minister, will be held on the anniversary of the signing of the other document — "the Crimean Declaration" from July 2018, which Washington does not recognize Crimea as Russian territory.
"the Baltic countries waited 50 years, we have so much time, it is necessary to turn the Crimea in the external and internal problem for Russia, i.e. to become better RF and keep real friends, who share with us common values and common future", — said Klimkin.
Earlier, Secretary of state Mike Pompeo published on Twitter a video message, where he said about "half a century of Soviet occupation" of the Baltic States.
The Russian side has repeatedly stated that the occupation by Soviet troops in these territories is out of the question. So, the foreign Ministry noted that the accession of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to the USSR in full compliance with international law of the time. The use of the term "occupation" is incorrect because between the Soviet Union and the Baltic republics was not conducted military operations, and the invasion was carried out on a contractual basis and with the Express consent existed in these countries authorities. Moreover, in these States during their stay in the USSR (excluding the time of occupation, Germany) operated with the national authorities.
