The world says goodbye to the great Polish composer Krzysztof Penderecki

Penderecki was born on 23 November 1933 in Dębica city. Composing music began at the age of 8 years due to the fact that during the war it was impossible to get notes with sketches for violin, he wrote them with his music teacher. In 1958 he graduated from the Krakow high school of music now is a Music Academy and taught at the Department of composition. He recalled: “In the early 50-ies we were influenced by folk music, the so-called “zhdanovshchina”. During my studies I came into contact with the aesthetics of the music at that time wrote in the Soviet Union, and for some time I was occupied.

And in 58-59 the years I began to look for his music. And in works such as Anaclasis, or even earlier, “Lament for the victims of Hiroshima”, “Polymorphia” already has its own language.” The latter was told that the basis for it was the electrocardiogram. “Yes, my electrocardiogram. My heart. One doctor friend said to me once, looking at the notes that, if this is true, I have long had a heart attack to happen, and not one. But of course, I didn’t reproduced it exactly,” confirmed Penderecki in an interview with “RG”.

the Composer wrote symphonies, operas, choral, instrumental and chamber music. He admitted: “to Play my music was difficult. If you look at the score “Polymorphia”, you will understand why. In Germany tookin Italy and Portugal, and in France and especially in Italy refused flatly. And in Poland, some bands rebelled. And in Russia – ever, was only too glad of the opportunity to learn something new”. For many years he taught and wrote music in different countries of the world in 1972 at 15 years old he became rector of his native Academy. He was an honorary doctor of many music education institutions in the world, including the Moscow state Conservatory and St. Petersburg Conservatory. Rimsky-Korsakov. Penderecki’s music used in their films, leading Directors in the world, including Stanley Kubrick, Martin Scorsese, David Lynch, Alain Resnais, Andrzej Wajda. Among his most famous works – instrumental and choral composition “the Passion according to Luke”, the Moscow premiere of which took place in the presence of the author – in 2016 at the theatre “New Opera”. “There are places I want to go back. I choose those places where there was a good orchestra, a good concert. In Russia, I always returned”, – said in an interview “RG” composer. He really tried as often as possible to visit our country. He said: “I think we need this cultural exchange is very important.” In November last year, he came to Moscow for the opening of the XI international cello festival VIVACELLO, which was executed essay N1 Penderecki Concerto Grosso for three cellos and orchestra. He returned to Krakow, he bought a country estate in the village of Luslawice, and discovered her talent… gardening. On his land, he created the European centre of music, which is about one hundred and fifty concerts a year, where talented young people from around the world come to learn, and broke Park, which contains thousands of trees, saplings of which the composer was brought from different countries of the world. It all started with a couple of acres and now there are thirty. It is symbolic that Penderecki was put in his estate a maze on four thousand square meters. He explained, “RG”, “I’m sure that the creative path of the composer, and any other Creator – it is a maze, search roads, sometimes hidden from view. You can’t go on a straight road, you need to always look for new twists”. In his last interview to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta”, the composer confessed: “I wanted to leave something behind.
