With emotional words and tears in his eyes, Carsten Spengemann says goodbye to the German football fans at ProSieben and ranNFL. He thanked the entire TV crew after the Philadelphia Eagles defeated the San Francisco 49ers.

“So, now this game is over and now it’s time to say thank you to everyone who made this possible in the first place. I also want to thank you out there and of course you (Roman Motzkus). That was our last football game for the season. We’ll see what happens next,” said Spengemann.

His words did not sound like a final farewell as a football commentator. In the past few weeks, there has been repeated speculation about who will switch from the Ran NFL commentators and experts to the upcoming football broadcaster RTL in the coming season.

RTL has not yet commented on the new employees for future NFL broadcasts. But in addition to Patrick Esume, Christoph Domisch and Björn Werner, Spengemann and Motzkus are two names that are currently circulating.

As he said his farewells, Spengemann was suddenly overwhelmed by emotions and began to cry. “Of course we would like to thank ProSieben, we would like to thank Ran for letting us present the games for you. I have a little pee in my eyes, so I have to turn away,” said Spengemann.

Football expert Motzkus countered with a wink. “Well, you’re still young. You haven’t done anything like that yet. When one door closes, another door opens. That’s why you can’t say what’s really going on,” Motzkus said to his colleague.

“But one thing has to be said, thank you very much for a great season that we had. We have experienced a lot. We had the Munich Game. We had the public viewing game with 6000 crazy people,” says Motzkus, who may be seen again with Spengemann on RTL TV in the new NFL season.
