Japanese firm Dentsu Inc. developed the Tuna app Scope. Thanks to it the smartphone taught using the camera to determine the quality of fish.

The app uses machine learning algorithms that were trained on thousands of images of tails tuna. One photo the app can estimate the fish on a scale. The program analyzes such characteristics as the gloss of tuna and fat content. An experienced specialist in these parameters can determine what kind of life was led by the fish, and therefore how tasty it will be.

In Dentsu claim that the app can give tuna the same rating as a professional.

While Tuna Scope is used in the restaurant chain Kura Sushi, which offers cheap sushi. This network also uses a robotic dishwasher.
