Nødrespiratoren is easier to use, and is thus easier to learn and use for workers who are not at the usual work with this type of treatment.

today, there are over 100 patients who receive intensive care in the Norwegian hospital with Covid-19-disease. Since the outbreak started in Norway has 168 patients received intensive care, according to figures from the Norwegian institute of public health.

Government guarantees are now financing of the project, and have ordered 1000 respiratorer.

– We can increase the capacity of our hospitals with their own domestically produced nødrespiratorene, where the production will take place in Kristiansand, ” says Solberg.

She adds that the Uk most likely will not get to use it all, and thus can contribute internationally.

Initiative to do this with touched and grateful, and optimistic for the future is korona. The consequences of koronaepidemien and the climate crisis will require that we find new and smarter ways of doing things, and today’s news is a source of inspiration for all, says Solberg.

Need more respiratorer in Norway

If everything goes according to plan, the production can get started already in april.

Norwegian institute of public health has estimated that there may be a need for between 600 and 1200 intensivplasser in Norway.

– We have 682 respiratorer and more are being delivered in the next few weeks, so that we can get in 1123, says health minister Bent High.

– We have ordered 1000 nødrespiratorer from Lærdal Medical, and this is more than we need in Norway. But we know that there is a great demand also in other countries and are therefore looking at the possibility of export.
