Russia will be ready for immediate interaction with foreign States on the issue of open borders on the basis of sanitary-epidemiological situation. This was stated on Wednesday, the Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko.

"as soon As conditions allow, safety to the health of citizens as soon as they removed the hard restrictive measures in other States, we on a bilateral basis ready for immediate interaction, constructive cooperation and create conditions for the realization of the right of our citizens to travel abroad, but with the understanding of the need to preserve the health of our citizens," – said Matvienko reporters.

She added that the situation remains difficult, the CIS and Europe still do not have fully decided on the issue of open borders.

"It is a process that cannot be accelerated someone’s will. It is a question of sanitary and epidemiological situation. Today the virus decides to open the borders or not. And as soon as favorable conditions will be created, of course, the citizens will travel to those countries that are ready to accept us and that will be achieved, these agreements are", – said the speaker of Council of Federation.

Matvienko recalled that two months ago, said that the rapid recovery of international relations will not happen.

"this is not a political issue, it is a question of sanitary-epidemiological requirements in connection with the pandemic coronavirus. We see that in different countries the situation is developing differently. Not everywhere it develops well. The border has two sides. Russia is not interested in introducing any far-fetched restrictions, not to produce citizens, close the border," she said.

Matvienko recalled that some countries are open to Russian citizens of the border.
