The International Wildlife Festival “Golden Turtle” begins accepting entries in the special nomination “Wildlife of Moscow”. The expert jury will select 10 photos that can be seen in the New Tretyakov Gallery, as well as the exhibition hall of the Union of Artists of Russia from October 15 to November 20 this year. The pictures of the finalists will be displayed in a separate hall “Biodiversity of Moscow”, and the winners of the competition will receive memorable prizes and diplomas.

The competition is organized jointly with the City Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection and the State Budgetary Institution “Mospriroda”. Photo works are accepted from August 1 to August 31. The exhibition will be held from October 15 to November 20.

Wild animals live far from residential areas and highways of the capital — in specially protected areas. To make a rare shot with foxes, martens, roe deer or other wildlife, photographers have to try. For filming, they, for example, install special camera traps. This is how it is possible to capture animals, including those listed in the Red Book of Moscow.

The Golden Turtle International Wildlife Festival is a large—scale ecological and educational project that promotes the idea of nature conservation through art. The central event of the festival traditionally becomes the exposition of the works of the finalists and laureates of the international photo contest.
