MOSCOW, June 19. /TASS/. the Scale of testing for the presence of a new coronavirus infection of members of election commissions who will be involved in a nationwide vote on amendments to the Constitution of the Russian Federation will depend on the epidemiological situation in a particular region. This was announced on Friday at a meeting of the Central election Commission of the Russian Federation, its Chairman, Ella Pamfilova.

She recalled that earlier, the CEC and the CPS as one of the security measures during the vote proposed maximum testing Commission members and observers, was released in may recommendations. In connection with the subsequent change in the situation, which, however, “in the regions is very different,” the recommendations were revised, June 15, they were sent to the subjects of the Russian Federation, said the CEC head.

“We are of his promises and intentions do not give up, just believe that it [testing] should be done in coordination with the local sanitary-epidemiological services, depending on the situation,” — said Pamfilova.

In this regard, she said, “in a number of regions such testing provides a fully, one hundred percent”.

however, she noted that testing will be voluntary for members of election commissions. “Of course, it is voluntary, if somebody refuse, we make will not”, — assured Pamfilova. In addition, she added, in a number of regions provided by the testing “only members of election commissions older than 60-65 years.”

on 1 June, Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the leadership of the CEC and members of the working group on preparation of amendments to the main law of the country supported the proposal to hold a vote on July 1. Later, the President signed the corresponding decree.

Initially nationwide vote on the amendments was scheduled for April 22. However, due to the pandemic coronavirus President in a televised address to the citizens on 25 March said that the vote should be postponed.

the CEC meeting on 2 June approved a new procedure nationwide vote on the law on the amendment of the Constitution. In particular, the CEC has provided the opportunity to vote before the primary of his day (from 25 to 30 June), voting outside of the polling place (including in adjoining areas), non-home voting, remote electronic voting for a number of regions and voting at the location through the mechanism of “Mobile voters”. Voting by mail will not be used.
