One person has died and four others received medical treatment after a 20-meter crane crashed on top of two terraced houses in Bow, east London, London Ambulance Service has said.

Videos posted on social media show the mangled remains of the collapsed construction crane and the damaged roof of a nearby house. The condition of those inside the building is not known at this time.

First responders treated four people at the scene, two of whom were taken to hospital with head injuries. “Sadly, despite the efforts of emergency services, a fifth person has been found and died at the scene,” the ambulance service later tweeted.
