The suspect was taken into custody days after the attack, and charged with Aggravated Assault

According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, a Utah woman had her throat slit after she allowed him to enter her home to take a bath.

Police were summoned to the apartment at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, after receiving a report that a woman was bleeding heavily.

Police have not released the identity of the victim. He was taken to a local hospital to undergo emergency surgery. Later, he was upgraded to critical but stable.

She stated to police she allowed the suspect into her home so he could shower.
Eric Jones, 30, was taken into custody two miles from the scene where he allegedly cut the throat of the victim in the early hours on February 11. He was charged with one count each of aggravated attack.

Michelle Mechling, a Salt Lake City detective, said that it is unclear if the victim knew about the suspect.

“It goes with – know whom you’re letting in your house and don’t allow people you don’t know into you house,” Mechling said to FOX13 Utah.
