Matt Turner, goalkeeper for New England, will be absent from the second consecutive Major League Soccer match. This leaves his status uncertain for the United States’ three remaining World Cup qualifiers.

Due to injury, Turner was unable to participate in the Revolution’s MLS season opening at Portland. He will likely not be dressed Saturday against Dallas.

Coach Bruce Arena stated Thursday that Matt is unlikely to be playing this weekend, but did not identify any injury.

WBZ reported Turner had a foot injury.

Turner, 27 years old, agreed February 11th to transfer to Arsenal.

He started eight of the 11 matches and has now surpassed Zack Steffen from Manchester City.

Steffen has not been able to play for Manchester City since February 5, and has not worn a Manchester City shirt since February 9, due to a back injury.

Other goalkeepers for the January World Cup qualifiers were Gabriel Slonina from Chicago and Sean Johnson of New York City.

Ethan Horvath was not on the September roster. He then played at Preston North End on February 22nd and against Bristol City on March 22nd. This was due to Brice Sambo’s red card against Stoke. The three-game suspension had been imposed.

The U.S. will be at Mexico on March 24, host Panama three days later in Orlando, Florida and then close World Cup qualifying on March 30 in Costa Rica.

The U.S. will not have Weston McKennie as a midfielder. McKennie broke two bones in his left leg while playing for Juventus in a Champions League match in Villarreal on February 22.

Gio Reyna, a midfielder for Borussia Dortmund, is in doubt after injuring his leg while playing on February 20. He was making his first club start since June. However, he said that he is optimistic about his recovery.

Since Jan. 30, when he injured his right ankle during a World Cup qualifier in Canada, Chris Richards, the defender, has not been able to play for Hoffenheim.
